Overview

The PhD in Criminology and Security Studies at Murang'a University is designed to equip students with advanced knowledge and research skills in the field of criminology, security studies, and related disciplines. Admission Requirements

To be eligible for admission to the PhD in Criminology and Security Studies program, applicants must meet the following requirements:

• A Master's degree in Criminology, Security Studies, or a related field with a strong academic record.
• A research proposal outlining the intended area of study and research objectives.
• Evidence of research capability, such as publications or relevant professional experience.
• Two letters of recommendation from academic or professional referees.
• A personal statement detailing the applicant's motivation for pursuing the PhD and career aspirations.

2. Accomodation Students shall provide for their own accommodation, food and other personal expenses.
   
3. Foreign Students Students from outsite East Africa Community (EAC) shall pay 20% more of the tuition fee.
   
4. Payment of Fees Fee for a semester is payable in full by the 5th week of the semester.
   
5. Registration Students are required to register for every semester even when carrying out research.

Exam Regulation and Grading

The PhD program adheres to the university's examination regulations, which include comprehensive exams, thesis defense, and publication requirements. Students must maintain a minimum GPA and complete all coursework within the stipulated time frame.
