Overview
The Master of Science in Criminology and Security Studies (MSc.CSS)
is a comprehensive program designed to equip students with advanced
knowledge and skills in the fields of criminology, security studies,
and related disciplines. This program aims to prepare graduates for
leadership roles in law enforcement, security agencies, research,
academia, and policy-making.
Admission Requirements
To be eligible for admission to the Master of Science in Criminology
and Security Studies program, applicants must meet the following
requirements:

A Bachelor's degree in Criminology, Security Studies, Social
Sciences, or a related field from a recognized institution with at
least a second class honors (upper division) or equivalent.

A minimum of two years of relevant work experience in law
enforcement, security agencies, research, or related fields is
preferred.

Submission of a completed application form along with the required
documents, including academic transcripts and a statement of
purpose.

Successful completion of an interview may be required as part of
the admission process.

Accomodation Students shall provide for their own accommodation,
food and other personal expenses.

Foreign Students Students from outsite
East Africa Community (EAC) shall pay
20% more of the tuition fee.

Payment of Fees Fee for a semester is payable in full by the
5th week of the semester.

Registration Students are required to
register for every semester even when carrying out
research.

Exam Regulation and Grading
The MAE program adheres to the examination regulations set by
Murang'a University. Students are expected to maintain academic
integrity and adhere to the university's policies regarding
examinations, including attendance, conduct, and submission of
assignments. Detailed exam guidelines are provided in the student
handbook.
