Overview
The program is designed to advance knowledge of people management skills, innovative strategies, and problem-solving techniques through teaching, training, and research for sustainable development. The program also aims to support students' ongoing professional development by preparing them to pursue further studies in the field of Human Resource Management.
The Bachelor of Science in Procurement and Supply Chain Management degree consists of coursework and examination which normally takes a period of four (4) academic years of two semesters for each academic year. There is a mandatory eight-week period for industrial attachment in an institution where the learner can best practice the skills they have learned in the course and learn more about the industry. This program is delivered entirely online.
Research Project
A student who chooses to take Research Project as a course unit shall prepare a concept on a selected project idea with guidance from the course unit coordinator and project supervisor(s). The student shall undertake research, collect and analyse data, and present findings of the research in a seminar attended by members of the department, after which he/she shall submit a project report. The research project shall be examined by a minimum of 3 examiners (including the project supervisor) through an oral presentation (40%) and project report (60%). A research project is guided research whose aim is to equip the learner with knowledge and skills in the field of Actuarial Science. The project involves the formulation of a research problem, data collection, analysis of data, and making conclusions from the analysis. Upon successful completion of the project, the learner is expected to demonstrate original thought and make a significant contribution to the body of knowledge through a scientific report and oral presentation.
The project shall be examined as follows:
a) Oral presentations - 40%
b) Project reports - 60%
c) Total - 100%
Graduation Requirements
For the award of the Bachelor of Science in Procurement and Supply Chain Management, a candidate must have:
- Attended at least two-thirds (2/3) of the lecture hours per unit on offer.
- Passed all the core course units and the required elective course units on offer.
- Achieved a pass mark of at least 40% out of a possible 100%.
More details about the program will be offered by the department during the student orientation at the start of every semester.
